Vince Bodnar was recognized for a lifetime of advancing business continuity through technical expertise, visionary leadership, community service, and lasting impact on Canada’s resilience landscape.


  • Over 20 years of leadership in disaster management, emergency response, and organizational resilience.

  • Canadian Red Cross career leading national disaster training programs and international response efforts (El Salvador, Kosovo).

  • City of Calgary role: developed business continuity and emergency response plans for critical water infrastructure, including during COVID-19.

  • Capacity builder: designed and led training initiatives like Ready When the Time Comes, strengthening government, corporate, and NGO emergency response.

  • Governance & mentorship: contributed to Resilience Information Exchange (RIE) Alberta, and shaped future professionals as an advisor at NAIT.

  • Community leadership: President of the Ramsay Community Association, recipient of the 2021 Faces of Community Award, applied resilience at grassroots level.

  • Professional excellence: holds designations including ABCP, AMBCI, and CRM, with advanced ICS and crisis management training.

  • Trusted leader: respected for collaboration, empathy, and ability to deliver practical, actionable resilience strategies.
