Cybersecurity Is More Important Than Ever Before

Cybersecurity if more important today than ever before. According to government estimates, cyberattacks cost the Canadian economy more than $1 billion a year in direct and indirect losses. Businesses across Canada list cyberattacks as one of the top threats to their operations.

In recent years, well-known Canadian companies such as Chapters, Sobeys and Canadian Tire have had their operations crippled by coordinated and carefully executed cyberattacks. Millions of individual Canadians have been hit by malware and ransomware that has cost them financially and personally.

In this environment, it is critically important that businesses large and small plan for how they will manage, cope and overcome a cyberattack when, not if, one occurs. And business continuity professionals are increasingly the first line of defence when it comes to safeguarding an organization’s information technology systems.

DRI Canada’s course on “Cyber Resilience for the Business Continuity Professional” (CRLE 2000) is an information-packed four-day training session that provides an intimate understanding of how to address cyber disruptions within a business continuity framework.

Through this course, participants learn how business continuity and cybersecurity must integrate within every organization. The course is structured around the five elements of cyber resilience:
1. Prepare and identify potential threats
2. Protect your organization from cyberattacks
3. Detect problems before or immediately after they arise
4. Respond quickly, efficiently, and effectively to any attack or breach
5. Recover and ensure that your organization can continue to operate

At the end of this course, people will be equipped to develop a strategy that effectively responds to unforeseen events and ensures their organization is back up and running as quickly as possible.

The cost of this course is $2,850.00, plus tax. However, the cost to write the accompanying qualifying exam at the end of the course is included in the cost.

Additionally, all participants earn 32 Continuing Education Activity Points (CEAPs) for taking this worthwhile training.
