Warm Hearts / Warm Boots

This year, DRI Canada is extending its mission of resilience beyond the boardroom. We're proud to announce "Operation Warm Feet, Warm Hearts," a special initiative for our 2025 Gatineau Symposium in partnership with Veterans' House Canada.

Join us in making a difference for local veterans who have served our country.  We have created two opportunities to be involved in this volunteer opportunity - whether you are attending the symposium in Gatineau, or not :

1. Fundraise for Winter Boots: Help us ensure every veteran at Veterans' House has warm, durable boots for the coming winter.

2. Volunteer for a Community Dinner: Join us on Sunday, Nov. 19th, to prepare, cook and share a meal with the residents.

Let's come together to serve those who have served us.

Operation Warm Feet

The path from service to civilian life is one of immense strength and resilience—qualities that professionals in business continuity and emergency management recognize and respect. Many veterans bring their unparalleled skills to our field, becoming leaders in preparedness and response. Yet, for many others who have served our country, the transition is fraught with challenges that prevent them from returning to the workforce, making even basic necessities a struggle.

Every winter, Canadians show their incredible generosity by donating warm coats, hats, and mittens. But one of the most critical items for surviving the cold—a good pair of winter boots—is often the hardest to get right. Boots are not one-size-fits-all; they require a personal fit for safety, comfort, and true warmth.

This winter, DRI Canada wants to bridge that gap. Our "Operation Warm Feet" initiative aims to raise $5,000 to provide a direct solution. Instead of collecting boots, we will give each resident at Veterans' House a gift certificate to Mark's or Canadian Tire, empowering them to walk in and choose the pair that is perfect for them.

To complete this mission, our own certified professionals have volunteered to provide transportation, turning the simple act of buying boots into a supportive community outing.

Help us provide more than just boots—help us provide a gift of choice, dignity, and warmth.

Community Dinner

At DRI Canada, we believe the strongest communities are built around a shared table. On Wednesday, November 19th, we are looking for volunteers to help us bring a warm, Sunday-style dinner to the residents of Veterans' House Canada.

This is more than just a meal service. We are inviting you to join us in the kitchen to prepare the food, serve, and most importantly, sit down and share the meal with the veterans. It's an opportunity to move beyond professional roles and connect on a personal level, sharing stories and showing our gratitude in a tangible, meaningful way.

Your time and presence are the most valuable gifts you can offer. Help us create an evening of warmth, camaraderie, and community for those who have served our country.

No professional cooking skills are required—just a willingness to help and a desire to connect. Spots are limited to ensure a personal and comfortable atmosphere for the residents.
