Contributor Award

This award recognizes individuals who have significantly advanced business continuity, disaster recovery, or emergency management in Canada. This award honors contributions that demonstrate leadership, achievement, innovation, and a commitment to resilience, whether through advancing DRI Canada, the BC/DR/EM industries, or community and organizational resilience efforts.

The award is open to individuals at any career stage, from emerging professionals to seasoned leaders.

Eligibility and Requirements

To qualify for the Contributor Award, nominees must:

  • Submit a completed nomination form with a maximum 1,000-word essay outlining their contributions.
  • Be a DRI Canada certified members in good standing.
  • Provide at least one reference (the nominator may serve as the reference).
  • Not be simultaneously nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award in the same year.

Note: Nominations can be submitted by any individual.

Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be assessed on:

  1. Leadership and Engagement: Consistent and impactful leadership in DRI Canada, industry associations, or community resilience groups, including participation in events, mentorship, teaching, or other initiatives.
  2. Innovative Contributions: Leadership in initiating and executing one or more transformative projects or initiatives with significant impact on DRI Canada, the BC/DR/EM sectors, organizations, or communities.
  3. Application Quality: Completeness, professionalism, and clarity of the submission, ensuring logical and relevant content.

Note: While each criterion is part of the evaluation, the Awards Committee looks for compelling submissions that capture the nominee’s strengths and qualifications.
